  • Rethink 8 Listen

    Carlos Isaziga - March 12, 2017

How do we live out the Sermon on the Mount? The unfortunate truth is that in our day the biblical view of truth telling and lying have largely been dismissed. "A unique tactic of Satan is taking something that God made to be good, and twisting it just a little to make it bad!" When you became a disciple of His, you signed up to be a truth teller. We should not need to "swear" to convince those listening to us that we are truth tellers. God calls us to be a people of deep integrity.
  • Rethink 7: Deep Integrity Listen

    Dan Cooper - March 05, 2017

Overview: How do we live out the Sermon on the Mount? The unfortunate truth is that in our day the biblical view of truth telling and lying have largely been dismissed. "A unique tactic of Satan is taking something that God made to be good, and twisting it just a little to make it bad!" When you became a disciple of His, you signed up to be a truth teller. We should not need to "swear" to convince those listening to us that we are truth tellers. God calls us to be a people of deep integrity.
  • Rethink 4: Love and Law Listen

    Carlos Isaziga - February 12, 2017

Big Idea: The heart of the law is good and Jesus came to bring it to life. There is nothing that God hasn't given us that is not good for us, including the law. Not following Jesus from the heart will amount to nothing. Not doing anything from the heart with God will amount to nothing. Will we commit to lives shaped by the heart of the law? God desires us to rethink what it means to keep His commands, to follow Him and obey Him. Bottom Line: I love to follow Jesus as much as I love Jesus.
  • Rethink 3: You Are Salt and Light Listen

    Dan Cooper - February 05, 2017

Overview: How do we live out the beatitudes. We become salt and light. In your experience, are Christians so separate from the world that they can't make any difference in the world? Or have Christians become so much like the word that they're not different enough to make an impact on the world? If we are to be salt and Light to a corrupt, prejudiced, rotting world, we must live in the world, but not be contaminated by the world. We must be salt and light. To influence the world I am to be distinctive from, not identical with the world.
  • Rethink: More Than A Vacation Bible School Song Listen

But in a world with quick self help to do it yourself plans, do you really believe that what Jesus says in this great speech can truly change your life? Even if your answer was yes, do you believe you can actually live the way He said?Bottom Line: You can do this.

    Carlos Isaziga - August 14, 2016

There is no doubt that there is confusion in the world and that even our own lives feel like they are in a state of confusion. Darkness has a way of making things this way. We can't see God in all the confusion and we sometimes even have a hard time finding ourselves. God has sent Jesus to bring clarity. But we so often prefer darkness and confusion. May open minds and soften our hearts to Jesus.  Jesus gives all access to clear living in a world of confusion

How do we relate to people in a world that's becoming less easier to relate? Especially to people who see themselves and the world differently than do. One of the most ostracized groups of people our country are those who are part of the LGBTQ community. How would Jesus relate to anyone in the LGBTQ community today? How should we? He shows us how He did it then, so we can today.

The marriage relationship is the toughest out there. It can be the most wonderful thing to ever happen to us to the most frustrating in just minutes. There is an eternal longing for an everlasting relationship and a place with God. There's nothing wrong with that. The problem is that we think we have to do all we can to earn and maintain it. We don't. There aren't enough good religious things we could do. There aren't enough kind, moral, nice things we can do either. Jesus has done it. We are in good standing because of Jesus.

Faith without works is dead.  Without faith, it is impossible to please God.  What does and active faith in the 21st century look like?  When has your faith caused you to act upon words you heard from God?  When has your faith caused you to do something that others might consider to be bold, unusual or crazy?
